Final

Well I got my rough back and have been making my corrections on it all week. I haven't had as much time to work on it as I had hoped but I think it went well. The paper was a fun topic and I learned a lot. I hope my intro and thesis is more clear now because I have run out of time to work on it... I am overall proud of this paper and hope it meets the standards expected.

Working on the rough draft

So far I have gotten together all of my research and have started my rough draft this week. I was a little thrown off at the fact that we had so much work to do this week. The introduction was another unexpected assignment and took time away from writing the paper itself. Im not even sure I wrote the introduction as expected. So the rough draft is due today and I am on page 5/10. I do have a good outline and think the paper has a good easy to follow structure. I may need to dig up a bit more to come to the full 10 pages but I am on my way. I realize the rough draft is due today, but this was really the only day I had time to work on it. Lets hope I get it done and turned in by midnight!

Research

I went to the library today and now I have more sources than I know what to do with. I checked out the entire book by Berger to see if there is more useful information in it. I have so much reading and work to do it is a bit overwhelming. I did finish all my corrections on my argument paper today so now I can just concentrate on this one. Hopefully I can organize all of my thoughts and information gathered soon!

Accidental Discovery

I decided to reread the Purdie article today to find more evidence to support my argument paper. As I was doing so I came across many things to use in my research paper. Its amazing when you are reading from a different perspective, the different things that are picked up. I saw many relevant themes that I missed the first few times I read the piece, even the Tom and Jerry analogy is useful. My final research project is constantly being molded and shaped by the new research I find. The research proposal will be constantly changing because my themes and ideas are also.

The research proposal process

So I was trying to research for my proposal and ended up totally changing my thesis. I was having a hard time finding sources for the topic I started with but ended up finding many more sources for an even better topic :) I am starting to get excited about this process and I hope I can combine all this information into a paper that flows well and makes sense. So research proposal rough draft DONE!

Research Thoughts

Well I have a busy, busy schedule but I have been thinking about topics for my research project. Right now I am tooling with the idea of delving into the psychological aspects of humor/joking. I think a few of the articles have gone into it a bit and I think there is much more to learn. I am a psychology major and it seems like a very fitting subject. I really haven't done any research into the topic yet but I plan too.
